Washington Mayor David Rhoads will swear in the city’s newest firefighter, Connor Brown, during a ceremony Monday evening before the Washington Common Council meeting. The swearing-in will take place just prior to the 6:30 p.m. council meeting at City Hall on Harned Avenue. Following the ceremony, the Washington Common Council will hold its regular meeting, followed by the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting. Among the items on the agenda is a request to close Northeast 6th Street in early April for a Washington High School robotics competition. The Daviess County Commissioners will also meet Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Daviess County Government Center to discuss highway updates, contract amendments, payroll and claims, and other county business.
