Washington Community Schools has announced that six teachers have been selected as Noyce Microelectronics Master Teacher Fellows through Purdue University. The fellowship is designed to prepare STEM educators to expand microelectronics instruction in high-need schools and strengthen Indiana’s growing workforce pipeline. The selected Washington Community Schools fellows are Patty Allen, Jayden Barley, Tamara Delisle, Isabella Henderson, Matt Riney, and Megan Riley. Washington Community Schools is one of only four districts participating in the regional initiative, which partners with Regional Opportunity Initiatives, the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division, and the Silicon Crossroads Microelectronics Commons Hub. Up to 18 teachers were selected across participating districts. Each fellow will receive a $13,250 annual stipend for five years in exchange for continued service in their district, along with support toward earning a master’s degree if needed. Participants will also attend a summer institute at Purdue University and help lead professional development and curriculum alignment in microelectronics education.
