A semi crash in Plainville Thursday morning knocked down power and utility lines, prompting a multi-agency response. According to dispatch logs, officers were called shortly before 10 a.m. after a dark-colored semi with a dump trailer reportedly struck power lines near Second Street. The truck continued southbound on State Road 57, leaving lines on the ground and damaging a stop sign. Deputies, Plainville Fire Department, and utility crews responded to secure the area and manage traffic while Duke Energy worked to restore service. A SparkLight line was also reported severed. Authorities later located the vehicle and driver involved. Power was restored later in the afternoon, and units cleared the scene.
