A multi-agency drug investigation in Daviess County has led to the seizure of nearly four pounds of methamphetamine and the arrest of a Washington man after a multi-county pursuit. According to the Washington Police Department, officers working with the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and the Indiana State Police began an investigation in January that resulted in a Level 2 felony warrant for 42-year-old Eric Logston on a dealing methamphetamine charge. On February 7, officers attempted to arrest Logston outside a local hotel when he allegedly rammed a police vehicle and fled. The pursuit continued through Petersburg and into Pike County, where Logston struck a Petersburg Police vehicle before officers were able to stop him in a parking lot. Police say Logston resisted commands and began ingesting suspected methamphetamine before officers removed him from the vehicle, administered Narcan and first aid, and transported him to a hospital. Investigators later recovered an additional 41 grams of methamphetamine and a large amount of cash at the scene. Logston now faces additional charges including dealing methamphetamine, resisting law enforcement, attempted battery on a public safety official, intimidation, and criminal mischief.
