The Vigo Township Fire Department responded on mutual aid Sunday afternoon to a structure fire in Ragsdale alongside the Washington Township Fire Department. Crews arrived to find heavy fire and smoke coming from a residence. Engine 17 and Tanker 17 responded with 11 personnel, and firefighters remained on scene for about three hours extinguishing the blaze and conducting overhaul operations. Additional assistance came from Bicknell, Edwardsport, Freelandville, and Oaktown fire departments, along with Good Samaritan EMS, the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, and Knox County Central Dispatch.
