Steven C. Hammer, 82, of Washington, Indiana, passed from this life with family by his side at The Legends Village in Washington on Thursday, February 5, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1944, in Duluth, Minnesota to Carroll E. and Vivian E. (Nielsen) Hammer. Steven married his loving wife, Connie D. (Foster) Hammer on June 8, 1965.
Steven was a US Navy Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the Odon VFW Post #9627, American Legion and Masonic Lodge. Steven was a Turbine Specialist, working in different Power Plants over the years.
Family left to cherish the memory of Steven include: his wife, Connie D. Hammer; one son, Todd Steven (Michelle) Hammer; grandchildren, Katie (Frederick) Nelson, Shelby Hammer, Jace Hammer, Britney Hammer and Evan Hammer; daughter-in-law, Laura Hammer; brothers, David Hammer and Daniel Hammer, both of Minnesota and sister, Carma Sprandel, also of Minnesota.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Wesley Evan Hammer.
Funeral services to honor the life of Steven will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon. The Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic Memorial Service immediately preceding the funeral. Steven will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington following military graveside rites by the US Navy Honor Guard and Odon VFW Post #9627.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
