A small shed was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon near the intersection of 15th and North Streets in Washington. Emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 12:30 p.m. after a caller reported flames coming from a shed on North Street. Responders arrived within minutes and found the structure nearly fully engulfed, with flames visible through the roof. The property owner told authorities she believes a heater used for her dogs may have sparked the fire. Animal Control was called to the scene to assist. Fire crews remained on scene for about 40 minutes before returning to service. No injuries were reported.
