The City of Washington Common Council, Washington Board of Public Works & Safety, and Daviess County Board of Commissioners all have meetings scheduled early next week with several items affecting city and county operations. Monday evening at 6:30 p.m., the Common Council will consider an economic development fund transfer, the final plat approval for Gateway Crossing Subdivision, and an ordinance adjusting compensation for city employees. Council members will also discuss a “will to serve” letter and preparations for the 2026 Waterworld season. Immediately following, the Board of Public Works & Safety will open bids for the Morningside Drive storm sewer project, review a utility billing issue, consider a utility department position change, and address utility write-offs. On Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., the County Commissioners will review highway project updates, consider contract approvals, hear the Sheriff’s year-end report, discuss insurance renewals, review GIS and dispatch updates, and make an appointment to the Visitors Bureau/Tourism Commission Board.
