A 15-month, multi-agency investigation known as Operation Upper Hand has ended with more than 65 arrests and over 200 criminal charges tied to narcotics, firearms, and illegal currency activity across northern Indiana. More than 20 search warrants were served in Howard, Grant, Miami, and Fulton counties, resulting in the seizure of about 3,575 grams of methamphetamine, 4,470 counterfeit fentanyl pills, 200 prescription pills, cocaine, heroin, 13 firearms, prescription medications, and over $15,000 in cash. The effort involved the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section along with numerous local, state, and federal partners, including the DEA and ICE. Officials say the operation reflects an ongoing commitment to disrupt drug trafficking routes in Indiana and dismantle large-scale criminal networks.
