The Jasper Strassenfest Committee has announced the theme and Hofmarschall for the 48th Annual Jasper Strassenfest, set for July 30 through August 2 in downtown Jasper. This year’s theme, “Threads of History, Patterns of Progress,” celebrates America’s 250th birthday while honoring the area’s German heritage. The theme will be featured on the festival button and highlighted through special events throughout the weekend. Representatives of the Dubois County chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will serve as Hofmarschall. The group was selected in recognition of its long-standing efforts to preserve local history and promote patriotism in the community. Non-profit groups interested in hosting booths or events can find details at jasperstrassenfest.org, and those interested in sponsoring or participating in the festival can contact the Jasper Chamber of Commerce.
