A public hearing will be held Monday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Washington Common Council Chambers at 200 Harned Avenue to receive input on a proposed ordinance regulating rental dwellings within the City of Washington. The hearing will focus on Ordinance No. 21-2025, which outlines new regulations for rental properties. The ordinance has been under consideration since last fall and is scheduled for final reading during the Common Council meeting immediately following the public hearing. City officials encourage residents, landlords, and tenants to attend the hearing and share their comments before the council takes action on the proposal.
Following the council meeting, the Washington Board of Public Works and Safety will also meet in the same location.
The Daviess County Commissioners will meet Tuesday, January 27 at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Daviess County Government Center in Washington. The agenda includes approval of meeting minutes, highway project updates, the Sheriff’s 2025 year-end report, payroll and claims dockets, and several informational reports, including notes from the DCH Finance Committee and the monthly clerk report.
