A Terre Haute teen charged with attempted murder has been transferred to the Vigo County Jail after turning 18. Kristopher Kelly was taken into custody in September following an incident in which he allegedly attacked his mother’s spouse with an axe and a knife after an argument at their home. The victim was able to escape and contact police. Kelly was originally held at the Vigo County Juvenile Center. After turning 18 this week, a court order moved him to the county jail. He faces charges including attempted murder and aggravated battery. Kelly is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 12, with a trial date set for March 13.
