David Edwin Beasley, 77, of Odon, Indiana died on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 2:56 PM at Ketcham Memorial Nursing Center in Odon, Indiana. He was born October 17, 1948, in Daviess County, Indiana to John A. Beasley and Mary M. “Mag” (Bullock) Beasley.
David was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bramble, IN. David loved his church family and was supported lovingly by his church family. David attended Raglesville, Indiana Elementary School for eight years, Odon High School for one year and then attended Rosemary Kennedy School in Washington. After completing school David worked at Red Door Industries in Washington and then Loogootee. They took him out in their van to restaurants, to Walmart shopping, and to the bowling alley where he enjoyed watching others bowl, being social, and snacking.
In 2001, David moved from his parents’ residence to Maplewood Apartments, in Odon, to live independently. His parents were hesitant as they feared he couldn’t live alone, but he did so well, and he managed to live there for 23 years and grew quite independent. It was the best move his family could have made. He lived there until 2024 when he moved to Ketcham Memorial Gardens, the Rose House. He then relocated to Ketchem Memorial Nursing Center. He was so well cared for and loved; it was a total success.
David never met a stranger! He was very outgoing and beyond friendly to everyone he met no matter where he was. David loved attending social events. His favorite time of the year was August when Old Settlers was held at Odon Park. He expected to attend every night and two afternoons and insisted on staying until they started turning out the lights! The White River Valley Antique Association Show was another event that he loved attending. His family rented a golf cart, and they covered the entire ground and visited with everyone he could get to stop and talk. He loved the Pumpkin Street Festival and the Christmas parade on Odon Main Street. He expected to come early and stay till it was over!
David’s favorite pastime was reminiscing about the days past and the friends and family that he missed so much. His ability to remember dates was amazing! He loved watching old sitcoms and listening to music and talking on the phone!
He was an avid North Daviess Cougar fan for any sport that was being played. He listened to all the events on his radio and if the game got close, he turned down the volume because he couldn’t tolerate close scores! A bigger Cougar fan than David was hard to find!
David was blessed with a large family. He had a brother, Mark (Melody) Beasley and a sister Diana (Darrell) Byers. His nieces and nephews were his pride and joy, Michelle (Dan) Durham, Lori Lorenz (Brent Bollinger), Jonathan (Amanda) Britton, Adriane (Roger) Callahan, Meredith (Brandon) Firestone.
