Several local teams competed in the FIRST Lego League State Championship Robotics competition on Jan. 10 at the University of Indianapolis. Thirty-six teams from across Indiana advanced to the state finals after qualifying events in Vincennes and Fort Wayne in December. Shoals Community School Corporation sent two teams to the competition. The RoboRox team placed third overall with 430 points and received a robot game finalist trophy. The RoxStars also competed, finishing seventh with 365 points. The next FIRST Lego League season is set to begin in August.
