The City of Loogootee has announced two temporary road closures to allow for utility installation at new construction sites. SE 1st Street closed yesterday, Tuesday, January 13, at 8 a.m., with traffic restricted between Ackerman Drive and Pine Street until work is completed. A second closure is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, weather permitting, at the end of Crane Street. That closure will also begin at 8 a.m. and is not expected to impact through traffic, as the work is located at the end of the dead-end street. City officials ask motorists to slow down and use caution in work zones as crews complete the infrastructure improvements.
