Daviess Community Hospital has implemented temporary visitor restrictions as flu and respiratory illness cases continue to rise across the region. Hospital officials say the restrictions took effect Friday, January 9, and are designed to protect patients, visitors, and staff. The guidelines prohibit visitors who are experiencing flu-like symptoms and visitors under the age of 16, with limited exceptions for special circumstances such as births or end-of-life situations. DCH says hospitals across the Tri-State area are taking similar steps, as the CDC reports this flu season is the most severe in 25 years. The hospital will continue to monitor conditions and adjust guidelines as needed.
