Duke Energy will begin aerial tree trimming in the Mitchell and Petersburg areas starting Thursday as part of a project to improve power line safety and reliability. The utility says a specialty helicopter crew equipped with aerial saws will trim vegetation along high-voltage transmission lines that cross remote and rugged terrain. The work is expected to take up to three weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions.
