Helen M. Evans, 61, of Washington, Indiana, peacefully went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, surrounded by those she loved so freely throughout her life.
Helen was born on May 30, 1964, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, to Mary Ann and Benard Stahl, who preceded her in death. She later made her home in Washington, Indiana, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and compassion.
On July 31, 1985, Helen married the love of her life, Charles Evans Sr., beginning a devoted partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Helen worked as a cook at Pizza Hut, where her warm smile and caring nature touched both coworkers and customers alike.
Above all else, Helen cherished her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Charles Evans Sr.; her children, Charles Evans Jr., Domenic (Lisa) Evans, and Eric Evans; and her siblings, BJ Stahl, Joe Stahl, and David Stahl. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Hannah Evans, Charles Evans III, Amelia Evans, and Angelina Evans, who were the light of her life.
Helen will be remembered for her gentle heart, her kindness, and the unconditional love she shared with everyone around her. Her home was always filled with warmth, and her presence brought comfort and joy to those blessed to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday January 9, 2026 at Ed L. Lee Mortuary.
Yvonne Evans will be officiating. Burial to follow in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00am – 2:00pm
