Purdue Extension–Daviess County and the Daviess County Clerk’s Office are inviting the public to a free program designed to explain how to run for local office and how Indiana’s election process works. The event, called Elected Leadership: Running for Office, will be held today, January 5, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Daviess County Courthouse in Washington. Daviess County Clerk Lauren Milton says they get a lot of questions in her office, and tonight’s event is to help answer all your questions.
Participants will learn about candidate requirements, offices up for election in 2026, and hear insights from local officials and political party representatives. The program is open to anyone interested in public service or learning more about local government.
