The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has completed an investigation into the sale of kratom products at a local convenience store, reminding the public that kratom remains illegal in Indiana. Authorities say kratom contains compounds classified as Schedule I controlled substances under Indiana law. The store involved cooperated with investigators, and the products were destroyed. No criminal charges are being pursued at this time. Officials are urging Pike County vendors to check their inventories and surrender or dispose of any kratom products found.
