Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a house fire late last night in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue in Oakland City. The homeowners were able to escape safely, but the home was declared a total loss. Initial reports indicated the fire may have involved two structures. Several fire departments, including East Gibson, Patoka Township, Fort Branch, Francisco, and Barton Township, were called to the scene, with additional tanker support requested due to water supply issues. Owensville, Haubstadt, and Union Township fire departments also assisted. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
