Martin County to Cover Registration Fee for Woodland Management Course

Martin County landowners can now enroll free of charge in Purdue University’s Forest Management for the Private Woodland Owner course beginning in January. The Martin County Soil & Water Conservation District announced it will pay the registration fee for any county landowner participating either in person or virtually. Interested residents can contact Brenda Norris at 812-295-3149 or martinswcd@yahoo.com. An in-person course option is also available in Dubois County, running Mondays from January 26 through March 16, 2026, from 6–9 p.m. EST at the Southern Indiana Purdue Agricultural Center. The program offers an eight-week introduction to forest stewardship and management, with class size limited to 40 participants.
