Indiana Extends Medicaid Open Enrollment Through Dec. 24

healthcare-1-3

Indiana health officials have extended open enrollment for two major Medicaid programs — the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) and PathWays for Aging — through Dec. 24, giving Hoosiers more time to choose a new managed care plan. The extension comes as the state phases out MDwise as a Medicaid carrier on Jan. 1, impacting roughly 300,000 members who must move to Anthem, CareSource or Managed Health Services for HIP, or to Anthem, Humana or UnitedHealthcare for PathWays. Hoosiers who do not select a plan by the deadline will be auto-enrolled in one similar to their current coverage, and those transitioning from MDwise will have 90 days after enrollment ends to change plans if needed. Assistance is available at 1-877-438-4479 for HIP and 1-877-284-9294 for PathWays.
