BFO Awards 16 New Grants Across Southwest Indiana, Completing First Year of Grantmaking

The Being for Others Health and Wellness Foundation (BFO) has wrapped up its inaugural year of grantmaking by awarding 16 new grants in its final 2025 cycle, supporting programs that advance health, well-being, and community resilience across its eight-county region. With this round, BFO has invested more than $650,000 in community initiatives during 2025. BFO received 52 applications totaling over $1.5 million and selected the following organizations for funding:

Indiana Cooperative Development Center – $50,000 for a perinatal recovery housing cooperative in Orange County.

City of Jasper – $6,000 for a police department peer-support mental health program.

Trotter House of Spencer County – $10,000 for a new pregnancy and family support center.

North Spencer Community Action Center – $3,500 to transition its food pantry to a client-choice model.

Perry County Council on Aging – $10,000 for meals, transportation, and themed luncheons for seniors.

The Oaks Transitional House – $10,000 to sustain supportive housing for women and children.

Pike County Prosecutor’s Office – $10,000 for the Fresh Look substance-use recovery partnership with RISE Peer Recovery.

Youth First, Inc. – $20,000 to support mental health professionals in Daviess and Dubois County schools.

Dubois County CARES – $12,500 for eighth-grade prevention and communication-skills programs.

Orange County Food Trust – $10,000 to expand regional food access programs.

Daviess County Peer Recovery – $10,000 for reentry support and peer-led recovery services.

Daviess County Family YMCA – $2,629 for language-access technology improving communication with members.

Centerstone of Indiana – $20,000 to provide school-based therapy in Crawford County.

Family Life Services of Washington – $10,000 to sustain free medical and prenatal services.

L4G, Inc. – $1,750 for one-on-one mentoring at Huntingburg Elementary.

Shoals Community School Corporation – $375 for the RoxStars Robotics Program blending STEM and local history.

The foundation plans to continue expanding support for community-driven health and wellness initiatives in the years ahead.
