Personal-Injury Crash Shuts Down Portion of Old U.S. 50 Monday

Emergency crews responded late Monday morning to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at West Old U.S. Highway 50 and South 150 West in Washington. The call came in at 11:50 a.m., with witnesses reporting one male victim was not responding and bleeding from the head. Multiple units from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Washington Township Fire, and EMS were dispatched. Medics on scene requested Air Evac, which accepted the transport with a 28-minute estimated arrival. Two heavily damaged vehicles were found in a ditch, and wreckers from Briggeman’s and Countryside were called to remove them. One patient was transported to Daviess Community Hospital by Medic 6. The roadway was partially restricted while emergency crews worked the scene. The crash has been cleared, and the incident is listed as closed. The sheriff’s office has not released additional details pending investigation.
