
Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle crash Monday evening on South State Road 57 near Washington after a caller received an automated crash-detection alert. The collision was reported around 6:17 p.m. Veale firefighters arrived to find two vehicles on scene with all occupants out and two people reporting chest pain. Medics evaluated the injured and transported three patients. A third vehicle involved reportedly fled north on SR 57 before officers arrived. Both remaining vehicles required towing. Deputies also noted minor property damage to a nearby yard. The incident remains under investigation, and a field report was completed.
