Downtown Washington businesses are gearing up for the “Home for the Holidays: Shop Small Saturday” event on November 29, featuring a community raffle and special promotions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers can bring receipts from participating downtown merchants to the Discover Downtown Washington Hub, located in the Times Herald lobby at 201 E. Main Street. For every $10 spent, customers will receive one raffle ticket. Prizes include items from local shops such as A Wonderful Life, Annabelle’s Boutique, Cherry Ghost Coffeehouse, Chandelier Barn, Arts Unleashed’s The Gallery, A Touch of Heaven, the Daviess County Museum, and others. The first 50 shoppers who turn in receipts will also receive a free limited-edition “Christmas on Main: An American Christmas” T-shirt, while supplies last. Organizers say many stores will offer additional giveaways and in-store specials throughout the day. The event encourages residents to shop local, support small businesses, and celebrate the kickoff to the holiday season.
