Emergency crews responded Thursday night to a single-vehicle accident at State Street and East National Highway in Washington after a white Buick struck an excavator and ran into a ditch. The crash was reported around 8:03 p.m., with three people inside the vehicle. One female passenger complained of leg pain after her leg struck the dashboard and was evaluated by EMS at the scene. According to police, the excavator sustained only minor damage, described as a scratch on the arm. The vehicle was removed from the scene by Briggeman’s Wrecker Service. No serious injuries were reported, and officers contacted the construction company responsible for the excavator to exchange insurance information.
