The Martin County CEO Program is helping local high school students turn ideas into real businesses, and one student, Clayton Miller, is ahead of the game. Miller, a junior at Loogootee High School, has launched The Birdie Box, a mobile golf simulator rental business that lets customers practice or play virtual rounds of golf indoors. Using community donations, Miller purchased a launch monitor, net enclosure, golf mat, and software system that connects to a TV or iPad for easy setup anywhere. The business offers two-, four-, and eight-hour rentals, with Miller handling delivery, setup, and takedown. He’s also working with local partners to host open-house events and hopes to one day expand into a permanent facility. Miller says the idea came from noticing a lack of indoor golf options in the area after several local venues closed. More information and rental options are available on The Birdie Box Facebook page. Listen to the full interview with Clayton Miller this Sunday on Getting in the Know with Greg Bateman on the Razor 94.5.
