The Indiana State Police are mourning the loss of K-9 Barker, a loyal partner to Trooper Jacob Lauer, who passed away Saturday, October 25, due to unforeseen medical reasons. Authorities say no foul play is suspected. Barker was a dual-purpose K-9, trained in patrol work and narcotics detection, and played a key role in numerous investigations, drug seizures, and community demonstrations. Trooper Lauer and Barker were known for their professionalism and teamwork. ISP officials say Barker’s service and sacrifice will be remembered by the entire law enforcement community.
