iurural_logo

Rural communities across Indiana are encouraged to apply for the 2026 Rural Placemaking Studio, a program connecting Indiana University faculty and students with local leaders to enhance community spaces. The initiative, a partnership between the IU ServeDesign Center and the IU Center for Rural Engagement, helps small towns create welcoming public areas. Past projects in the Radius Indiana region include wayfinding signage in Washington, building markers in Loogootee, and a mural in Pekin. Applications are open through December 18 for towns under 50,000 residents. More information is available at go.iu.edu/ruralplacemakingstudio.
