Traffic Stop Leads to Cocaine Arrest in Washington

A Washington man was arrested early this morning, October 23rd, after police discovered more than 14 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 50. According to the Washington Police Department, Sgt. Tyler Holcomb and Officer J. Kane Waggoner stopped a black Dodge Ram around 12:30 a.m. near County Road 150 South after observing the vehicle speeding and failing to move from the left lane. During the stop, K9 Zeke alerted officers to the presence of drugs, leading to a probable cause search. Police found two plastic baggies containing a white powder and solid substance later confirmed to be cocaine. The driver, identified as Nicholas Pizante, admitted the cocaine was his and said he obtained it in Illinois. Pizante was taken into custody and advised of his rights. The case remains under investigation by the Washington Police Department.
