
The Daviess County Historical Society and Museum invites the community to celebrate 250 years of freedom with a special Salute to Veterans and Parade on Sunday, November 9. The event begins at 2 p.m. at the Daviess County Museum, 212 E. Main Street, with music, guest speakers, and refreshments honoring local veterans. The program will also include student essay presentations. The Veterans Parade will follow at 4 p.m. Registration and check-in open at 2 p.m. at the Carnegie Public Library, with judging at 3 p.m. Participants may enter as individuals, families, churches, businesses, or veterans. Cash prizes will be awarded for decorated box floats, golf carts, and themed parade floats. Veterans wishing to ride on the city train may reserve a seat by calling 812-254-5575.
