Two juveniles were taken into custody early Wednesday morning after a high-speed pursuit involving a stolen vehicle in Washington. According to the Washington Police Department, officers on 3rd shift stopped to check on a vehicle near East National Highway and State Street around 4:20 a.m. When officers approached, the vehicle fled eastbound and began traveling east in the westbound lane of U.S. 50, heading toward oncoming traffic. To prevent injury to the public, a WPD sergeant used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle safely. Both suspects were arrested without further incident, and officers later confirmed the vehicle had been stolen. Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving keys or valuables inside. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
