Our Community Foundation has announced the recipients of its fall semester Teaching Innovator Grant, awarding Washington Community Schools $250 for the Habla y Juega (Play and Talk) Project. The grant was accepted by teacher Britnye Ponce, who was named a Teaching Innovator. The project introduces a dramatic play area designed to build students’ Spanish oracy skills through improvisation and role-play rather than structured dialogue. Funding for the program comes from the Foundation’s Administrative Fund, which supports innovative classroom projects across Daviess County.
