
Nelson Dee Inman, 74, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away peacefully on Thursday October 3, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home.
He was born on January 23, 1951, in Bedford, Indiana to John F. and Edith M. (Lynch) Inman.
After graduation from Loogootee High School in 1969, Nelson was a proud member of the United States Airforce serving his country from 1970-1974. He then went on to continue his work at DRMO at NSWC Crane as a Supervisory Chief Property Disposal Officer where he received numerous awards including a flag that was flown over the state capital for the work accomplished for the state of Indiana. After dedicating a majority of his career to the US Government, he worked as a contracting consultant for Bedford Recycling from 2006 to 2009, thereafter he decided to retire for good. He married Debra (White) on April 8, 1978. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Most of all he liked to spend time with his grandchildren and family. He will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Edith Inman, his brother, Malcom “Cactus Jack” Lynch, granddaughter, Braylyn Inman and father and mother in law, Wilbur and Betty White
Nelson is survived by his wife Debra Inman, their children, Amy (Clint) Williams, Brandon Inman, grandchildren, Tylen Williams, Anderson Williams, Callaway Inman, Gunner Inman, siblings, Sue (Larry) Marley, John (Suzi) Inman, Diann (Robert) Chattin, Joe (Bev) Inman, and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen to his wishes; he will be laid to rest in Goodwill Cemetery at a later date.
