Walk for Suicide Loss & Awareness Brings Hope and Healing in Daviess County

img_2846

More than 100 people came together at Daviess Community Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 27, for the first-ever Walk for Suicide Loss & Awareness. The event raised nearly $3,000 to support local suicide prevention and mental health programs. Participants carried glow sticks as they walked around the hospital campus, honoring loved ones lost to suicide. The evening featured a performance of the National Anthem by Miss Indiana Teen Abbi Knepp and a powerful message from Washington native Amber Crews, a mental health nurse practitioner who shared her journey of overcoming addiction, depression, and suicidal thoughts. DCH encourages anyone struggling with mental health to reach out to its Behavioral Health Services, which provide outpatient therapy, evaluations, and psychiatric care in a confidential setting.
