A Crawfordsville man was arrested Friday night, Sept. 26, following a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 231 near Loogootee. Indiana State Police say Trooper Beau Brumett responded to the scene, where the driver, 62-year-old Steven J. Ford, was taken by ambulance to Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper. While at the hospital, Ford showed signs of impairment during an interview with Trooper Kayla Denk-Mundy and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office. After being medically cleared and completing a chemical test, Ford was arrested and booked into the Martin County Jail on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of paraphernalia, both Class A misdemeanors. Assisting at the scene were the Martin County and Dubois County Sheriff’s Offices. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
