
Fire crews responded Sunday afternoon to a camper fire on County Road 550 North in Washington. The call came in around 2:25 p.m., reporting smoke and flames from the camper. Plainville Volunteer Fire Department arrived to find the structure fully engulfed. Black and white smoke was visible as crews worked to contain the blaze. No injuries were reported, and no one was trapped inside. Medics were on scene as a precaution, but all cleared once the fire was under control. Firefighters knocked down the flames within 30 minutes and remained on site to extinguish hot spots. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
