The City of Washington and Daviess County Commissioners will each meet early next week to discuss a range of business, ordinances, and community updates. The Washington Common Council will meet Monday, September 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 200 Harned Avenue. The agenda includes the introduction of an ordinance revising Section 112 of the city code, final readings on a subdivision replat and 2026 budget appropriations and tax rates, as well as setting the city’s Trick-or-Treat hours. The Council will also note that October’s first meetings will be shifted to Tuesday, October 14, due to the Columbus Day holiday. Immediately following, the Washington Board of Public Works and Safety will meet to review minutes from the September 8 session and discuss claims.
The Daviess County Commissioners will convene Tuesday, September 23, at 9 a.m. in the Government Center. Their agenda includes highway project updates, discussion on the CR 200N bond extension, a contract with the Economic Development Corporation, and updates to the county’s multi-hazard mitigation plan. Commissioners will also address a hangar lease termination, a trunk-or-treat request from Washington Community Schools, and several payroll and claims dockets.
Both city and county meetings are open to the public.
