Emergency crews were called early Sunday after a black SUV was found wrecked and partially resting on railroad tracks near County Roads 1400 N and 550 E. Deputies say the vehicle appeared to have flipped and struck a utility pole, bringing down live wires. CSX was notified, and rail traffic in the area was halted until the scene was cleared. Briggeman’s Wrecker removed the heavily damaged SUV, while REMC crews worked to secure the downed lines. The driver, a woman who had left the scene, was later located by deputies and taken into custody. She was transported to Daviess Community Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Security Center. No injuries were reported.
