Perdue Farms has announced a mass layoff at its Washington facility, eliminating the second shift at the plant. According to a notice from Director of Operations, 293 employees will be permanently laid off. Their final working day will be October 10, with official separation from employment set for November 2. The company confirmed employees will not be able to transfer into other positions at the Washington plant or other Perdue locations. All affected workers have been notified.
