A man accused in a February shooting tied to a major drug bust appeared in Daviess Superior Court Thursday for a pretrial conference. According to court records, Alexander J. Carlquist faces multiple felony charges, including burglary resulting in serious injury, burglary with a deadly weapon, and battery by means of a deadly weapon. Deputies say Carlquist fled the scene after the shooting, sparking a day-long search before being arrested on February 15. Inside the cabin, identified as Nathan Harmon’s residence, investigators allegedly found over 83 grams of methamphetamine, several scales, drug paraphernalia, and $6,000 in cash. Harmon, who was shot multiple times but survived, was later arrested and charged with multiple drug-related offenses, including dealing methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and unlawful possession of a syringe. Carlquist is scheduled for a jury trial on November 18. Harmon will return to court for a pretrial conference on September 30, with his trial also set for November 18.
