The Town of Winslow is improving quality of life with upgrades to parks, facilities, and long-term planning for the community. Recent improvements at Winslow Youth Park include one of Pike County’s first pickleball courts, updated Little League fields, a walking trail, and plans to add middle school soccer. The Pike County Library’s Winslow Branch has also unveiled a new mural, and the Pike County Health Department recently relocated to Winslow, expanding services for residents. Looking ahead, the town is developing a five-year Parks & Recreation plan with support from the Indiana Region 15 Plan Commission and financial backing from the Pike County Community Foundation. Public input is being sought through surveys. In addition, the University of Southern Indiana is conducting a feasibility study for the Winslow Community Center to ensure its long-term sustainability. Winslow Park Board President Alexis Rusch said the planning efforts will help guide development, secure future grants, and ensure projects reflect community needs.
