Tonight is Salute to Service night in week one of high school football as the Washington Hatchets and the North Daviess Cougars meet at North Daviess. Game time is set for 7pm, with lots of special activities planned. Military Displays & Vehicles — See howitzers, tactical vehicles, and other displays honoring our armed forces.
· Special Guest Airman — U.S. Air Force representative Logan Lagle will join the pregame ceremony.
· Traveling Championship Belt goes to the winner, as well as the Commanders Cup Trophy, and the Highway 57 Helmet will be on the line.
The Washington American Legion Post 121 will be hosting a tailgate party and grilling out burgers before the game beginning at 4pm, and Al Williams will be broadcasting live from the field from 4 to 6pm at the tailgate on Memories 107.9fm. Catch live coverage of the Hatchets on WAMW and the Cougars on WRZR. Washington High School will host its Homecoming Parade on Friday, Sept. 12, at 5 p.m. Entries for the parade are now being accepted, with a deadline of Sept. 9.
