The Town of Winslow is reminding residents to purchase tags for their pets, with enforcement beginning soon for animals without licenses. Officials say the requirement is meant to help ensure pet safety. Pet owners have 30 days to register their animals at current rates before fees increase under a new ordinance.
The current registration fees are:
$3 annually for each spayed or neutered dog or cat, age 5 months and older
$5 annually for each unaltered dog or cat, age 5 months and older
$15 lifetime tag for spayed or neutered pets
Unlicensed pets could face penalties once enforcement begins.
