The Pike County Neighborhood Development Panel will share updates on local housing projects during a free public event tomorrow, August 13, at the Elmer Buchta Technology Center in Petersburg. The panel, from 5:30 to 6 p.m., will feature Premier Properties president Ruger Kerstiens, Petersburg Mayor RC Klipsch, and Pike County Economic Development Corporation executive director Ashley Willis. From 6 to 6:30 p.m., Springs Valley Bank & Trust will offer tips on becoming a homeowner. Willis says Pike County has multiple housing developments underway, from duplexes and rental cottages to single-family homes. Projects include 24 townhouse units by Premier Properties, 12 duplexes and more under construction by New Hope Services, and 20 cottage-style rentals from Ramirez Construction. The Meadows Subdivision will soon break ground on its first 24 single-family lots, with a full plan for 102 homes.
