Emergency crews responded Monday morning to a property damage accident at Elm Street and Garten Street in Odon. The crash, reported just after 8 a.m., involved a vehicle that came into contact with a downed utility line. Initial reports indicated the driver was still inside the vehicle with power lines on top, prompting a response from Odon Police, the Odon Volunteer Fire Department, Daviess County deputies, and medical units. Duke Energy crews were also called to the scene, arriving within about 25 minutes. The driver was safely removed from the vehicle without injury, and officials later determined the line involved was a cable line rather than a live power line. The scene was cleared shortly after 9 a.m.
