The Pike County Chamber of Commerce will host its Powered by Pike open-house event on Thursday, August 14, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET at the Elmer Buchta Technology Center in Petersburg. The free public event will highlight the county’s history in coal mining and power generation, as well as feature companies discussing current alternative energy projects and the future of the industry. Organizers say the event celebrates Pike County’s long-standing role in energy production while looking ahead to coal, natural gas, and renewable power. Refreshments will be served throughout the day.
