Washington High School is kicking off the new school year with Hatchet GOLD, a peer mentorship program designed to help freshmen transition into high school life. Select juniors and seniors will mentor incoming students, offering support on academics, time management, and emotional well-being. The program also encourages involvement in school activities and personal growth. Guided by WHS teachers, counselors, and administrators, Hatchet GOLD aims to build strong connections and future leaders through year-round lessons and team-building activities. Matching mentors and freshmen is based on shared interests and goals, with summer launch events on the horizon.
